Doc,

You are setting up a false dichotomy. I want to train my children in the
Word of God and that is why I teach them in family devotions, that is why
we catechise our children and the like. Yet, to say that the corporate
worship is only for adults is not something that is communicated in the
Bible. It is clear that the younger ones were in the worship. BTW, when
I get home after church I ask my children what the learned from the
sermon. The tell me and then I help where needed.

Where I have a problem is that the church is the corporate Gathering of
his people and when we begin to make it a semi-corporate gathering, there
is no precedent for this in Scripture. Now, I am not talking about Sunday
School or other activities, I am merely talking about the corporate
gathering. We come together as one body... the emphasis on being "one".
I do not see this as us being one. I do believe that there is precedent
for my belief in Corinthians where the church was condemned for
segregating, for whatever reason, the Lord's Supper. It commanded us to
wait on the other brethren.

BTW, you know me Doc, you know I am passionate about the training of our
children in theology. No, my child does not listen to Stanley or the
like. Yet, she is growing in the corporate worship service, probably more
than most kids are growing in "children's church". And guess what, my
child loves church. We had to miss a few weeks ago and she was upset
(sickness hit my wife and I). She was not upset because of the "fun
activities" but she was upset because she would miss the corporate
gathering of God's people.
