Nobody said marriage is man made. Jesus told us to abide by the laws of
the land. Give to Caesar what he is due. Abiding by the law of the land is
proper as long as it does not contradict the law of God. Having a wedding
certainly does not go against the law of God.
If a man is man enough to have a wife he should also be man enough to take
the responsility of giving her his last name and especially if there is a
child involved.
Apparently you don't see things this way.
