I do not agree that this is a moot point.

The point is, .. unregenerate people, even non-Jewish people, were commended 
for their FAITH in trusting Jesus and received healing and miraculous 
deliverance from demons on account of their faith BEFORE they were born 
again.

Faith is simply taking God at His word, believing His word, and acting upon 
His word.

Faith LEADS unto salvation, not stems from salvation as reformed theology 
teaches..

Faith is a catalyst that brings eternal life.  He that believeth HATH 
eternal life.  One never reads in the Bible that "He that is elected 
believeth."
