Typical.  The church claims they use the "ahnk" because the Coptic
Christian Church (Ethiopian) uses it.  Thereby, making it a "black" thing
rather than a "Christian" thing.

have at least 40 refugees from that Ethiopia/Sudan and none of them use
this nor do they make a big deal about being "black."  For them it is all
about being Christian and the color of their skin is not a primary issue.
