I think all churches tend to do this (unfortunately).  The question is not
is tradition bad, but which traditions are still either Biblical or at
least "adiaphora" or simply "gray areas" which can be used for the sake
maintaining good order.

I don't think any group or denomination is exempt from this.  I think each
generation needs to re-ask "why are we doing this?"
