There are no Biblical standards of dress given except modesty.

The idea that one must wear his "Sunday best" to church is not supported by
the Scriptures. Nor is there any Biblical instruction for a preacher to wear
certain types or styles of clothing.

"And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed,
so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour"
(Matt 8:13).

Again, sorry for misunderstanding you Bill.

I based my understand on what you said and sometimes these quotes below are
your entire post**:

Bill said:
Bottom line I don't know whats appropriate for church other than a person
doing and wearing what they have. It is important they are there!!

**HMMMMMMMM. Did Jesus or the Apostles wear socks? Did they question the
dress of those who came? Nope, I dont think so.

**DW, I have no idea where the line can be drawn. It's the Holy Spirit's
place to prod and convict not mine. We've had many people start out coming
in what would be considered less than appropriate dress, but sure enough
they change out of their Thongs:)
I have to wonder what God would think if a person came and was not accepted
do to their clothes. The conclusion I come to is that He doesn't care as
long as a person hears the Word. A transformation of the thinking will
happen Romans 12:2. Might want to check Rom. 12:16, too.. And lets not
forget how we treat the least of these is how we treat Him.

**I never said I wouldn't preach or counsel or discuss with people their
dress or behavior. As a counselor I surely do that. The true change in
people is their choices thru the prodding and convicting of the Holy Spirit.
This position is straight out of the Bible.

My experience..... I'm as conservative as anybody on here. And, hold
strictly to the early church's views, and biblical standards.
