Brethren, I see a moving away from the distinctives of the Baptist Faith
and Practice. How many would take Catholic Baptism ( baptism performed by
the authority of the Catholic Church) if it were by immersion? Well, how
many of these Protestant sects began with the Catholics and still have many
of the same doctrines?
I know this is not a Baptist only forum and I am OK with that. Also, I
think most if not all the men on this forum are saved, yet there is a thing
called error in doctrine, and I cannot place my stamp of approval on a
doctrinal error by accepting baptism from anyone not of like faith and
practice.
Bro. David to answer you question, I would not take any baptism as valid
which was under the authority of a church or sect that taught doctrinal
error. I am not saying people cannot be saved in other churches, just that
the command to baptize was given by Jesus and to His church which held to
the "faith once delivered to the saints." I believe the adherence was and
is to a set of teaching, not to the name on the sign. Any deviation from
these, if not corrected, ends in the authority and validity of the
ordinances being taken away.
I know this is not ecumenically correct, however this is how I stand!

Mike,
When A Christian is baptized, he is "baptized."
I did not know the Bible spoke about "Presbyterian baptism," or any other
kind, except "water" baptism.
