I hear what you said, but the question remains, couldn't we change it?
Would it be wrong. Maybe poetic but confusing. If we want to retain
the 2nd person singular and plural, we could do so by having "you" for
the singular and we have two options for the plural. The Southern
States could adopt the "y'all" and the Northerners could adopt the "You
all".
Would that be wrong or do injustice to the text?
