Lynn, Summary answer. Imprecatory prayer is essentially praying down God's wrath on our (His) enemies. It is evident in the "war" Pslams. However, we cannot in the literal sense engage in that form of prayer ie. I "hate" you in Jesus name. No direct application for us when that form of prayer is being used IMHO..
