Dr. Dodd, who wrote, "Johannine Epistles," on p. 149, makes this  
rather bizarre comment about the 2 John passage:

"our author [John] is not skilled in the niceties of the Greek idiom"

What is worse, is that Dodd goes on to translate the participle  
erchomenon in the past tense, as if its meaning were exactly as 1  
John 4:2!!!

Dr. Dodd is actually saying that John didn't understand what he was  
writing, as if he was ignorant of what he wanted to say.

Amazing, just amazing.
