My name is Mike Cleveland, and I used to belong to this group a long time
ago, and then we kind of got busy in ministry and had to drop out. But my
wife, Jody and I think of you all often, and appreciate so much the
God-exalting, Christ-centered view of sovereign grace and New Covenant
Theology. I hope you are all doing well and enjoying the amazing grace of
God in Jesus Christ. 

 

I'm writing today to ask you for a recommendation. We have a man whom the
Lord saved and set free from bondage, and has been working full time with
our ministry for about 6 years now. He is passionate about Christ and is
burdened to preach the gospel of grace, but we would like for him to become
even better equipped in preaching. We don't take the statement about the
disciples that they were "ignorant and unlearned" as an example for all to
follow, and would like to be able to send this young man somewhere that he
can learn the value of contextual preaching.

 

The difficulty, which I am sure is the same with many people, is that we
employ him full time in ministry here with us, and he is extremely busy. So
how can he learn to expand his gift of preaching while employed with us
here? We can give him several weeks off in a row for some place that allows
that kind of thing, but he really couldn't take a few years off and still
work with us.

 

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
