Up until recently the Anglican church was able to accommodate everything and everybody. For many years there have been two separate official book publishing organizations, one liberal and one evangelical. There have been J.I.Packers and Bishop Robinsons. It appears the evangelicals are losing influence. The bishop of a given area determines, to a large degree but not totally, the kind of priests allowed into his area. This is why some areas will have far more evangelical than others. Ordaining homosexuals and embracing gay marriage seems to have been the straw that broke he camels back of some churches. A split has occurred that appears to be permanent.
