Yeah Rob me too!

When I was younger I was very political and always ready to make partisan
statements. However I got to thinking about that habit and sought in recent
years to desist and see politics for what it really is.

Politicians are politicians once and for all, nothing more and nothing less.
Politics has its own rules and will always follow them.

This is not to say that we as Christians should be cynical instead of
partisan. Personally I think we should give credit where it is due,
constructive criticism where it is due. But at all times we should act in a
genuine humility and pray for our leaders both government and opposition.

I do tire of the politically correct stuff but for the most part I think we
can safely ignore it. Our own Premier here in Queensland said he was not
interested in making smacking illegal, because he would be a hypocrite if he
did!

To be fair I think they are concerned about violence and abuse but I think
there are better ways to achieve the appropriate outcome. I personally did
not find smacking all that effective but it was always a back stop if you
needed it...like the time that my son came at me with a baseball bat! (So
much for ADHD medication!)

FWIW

God bless,
Jeff
