Terry, How do you get that the creeds are unscriptural? The creeds were written in order to itemize that which the bible dictates only. Example, the WCF says that we believe there is one God, who created everything, that He is holy, that He does things according to His will and purpose alone. When people walk through a PCA door or want to join PB, we ask do you agree with what the WCF states? Why is this bad? To bind a believer to something which is beyond the scriptures, in order to be a recognized part of a local church, is utterly unscriptural itself. It causes believers to lie, if they are not in accord with some part of it. It causes believers to be performance-oriented instead of Spirit-led. Performance doesn't insure Spirit-led, but Spirit-led does insure performance.
