Steve

If as you state that all that is required for folk to join the Puritan
room is "general agreement with either the WCF or the Baptist confession
of 1689", then why the withdrawal of your offer? Some of us in this room
have come from a reformed Baptist background, and in some respects would
still regard ourselves as "reformed" (whatever that is meant to mean),
but we no longer hold to the to the unbiblical concept of the covenants
of grace & works, and the unchanging nature of moral law. Why should
these articles be singled out so as to make someone ineligible to join
the forum, when others might not believe that the Pope is "the
anti-christ" or some other article? Can you see my drift? Who decides
what is acceptable as "in general agreement" and what is not? If either
of these articles can be shown to be un-biblical, that surely is enough,
unless of course the confession unwittingly has some elevated position.
If you have not read Wells & Zaspel's book on New Covenant Theology,
then do so and look at the last chapter which addresses this very issue.

Grace to You

Neil
