For those of you who believe in membership for the local church, I am curious how you would counsel on the following subject. A wife wants to become a member of the local church she attends, but her husband(who is also a professing believer) doesn't want to become a member, nor does he really want her to become come. She wants to know if she should become a member even though her husband doesn't want to, neither does he want her too? Is she not in submission if she chooses to become a member without his consent, or is she permitted to become a member because the Scriptural teaching on membership and obedience to it?
