I recently counseled a young lady who had an affair while married.  She left her husband and married her lover.  She now realizes it was a sin, and she made a mistake.  She ask me if she should leave her new husband (the one she had affair with) and go back to her old husband.  At the time, I told her that she needed to stay married to the man who she is currently married to.Her mother has told her that because she committed adultery, therefore really not married to the man who she calls her husband, and should go back to her old husband.
 
Was I right to counsel her to stay with her new husband?
