I am not the smartest guy in the world.  Can you/someone connect the dots for me?  It seems that  he does deny the eternal state of hell.  If one is not conscious---how can it be eternal.  I assume someone will say the key is the words "eternal separation?"  Is this a correct assumption?  If so then how can you be separated from when you don't exist. jeff

Several years ago I asked a theologiy professor from Geneva College what
attracted so many good men to Stott's view. He replied (1) that it appeared
to magnify God's love and grace, but (2) it ultimately minimized the central
truth of the corss. He then smiled and said, "I should add that I use
Stott's book on the Cross as a text book in one of my classes. So . . .

At this point, I find no problem with the traditional view. However, in
spite of the fact Stott rejects part of that view, he is often grossly
misrepresented.
