The whole subject of leadership needs to be discussed. (1) The word
"deacon" is not a translation. Like "Baptism" it is merely bringing a Greek
word into the English translaton of the Scripture. The word is used over 100
time and is always translated "minister" or "Servant." Seven times, in the
KJV, it is transliterated and given a special meaning of "office of
Deacon." Both Paul and Jesus were "deacons".
(2) The idea that the "office of deacon" originates in Acts 6 is incorrect.
When ever that view is held, then the "office of elder" seems replace the
Apostles with the Elder. This again is incorrect.
The whole thing needs to be clarified from a New Covenant perspective.
