James Allen:

<< So, any report from Bunyan? >>

Yes, forthcoming. I am putting together a report/quote list like I have been doing for years. More to follow.

<< Did anyone meet my friend Ryan Mayfield? >>

Sad to say I am not good with names, and met so many folks that I am not sure if I could put a face to the name! Perhaps his memory is better and he will remember meeting me! That will help!

<< Was there any good fellowship? >>

The best! The time goes too fast, and our moments together this side of glory are too limited. The love of the brethren was very evident, and the fellowship was very warm and hearty. Many first-time Bunyaneers who reveled in it with us!

<< Was there any good teaching? >>

Do ducks quack and frogs croak? I'll say! Very exciting, soul stirring, moving, tremendous, wonderful, pages and pages of notes...many times when I couldn't even think of writing, and many others when I couldn't see the page through the tears! Does that tell you anything?

Dr. Carson was very helpful on Rev. 12-14. He was also very provocative, and has us hitting the books again to check out some of what he presented. I will sit at his feet any time!

Tim Trumper was very exciting and challenging on the doctrine of Adoption. I look forward to his forthcoming work on this subject, and will be running down some of his other journal articles (some were available at the Conference). I also look forward to hearing him again.

Jerry Bridges was all I expected him to be and more. My wife and I are very thankful for the effort to get him there on the part of John Reisinger. He really fit in, and ministered to us like only a man of his caliber and experience can. Well worth hearing!

Dave Morris got an extra opportunity to minister the Word as Mike Haykin could not make it. This brother can preach! He always has us on the edge of our seats!

John Reisinger never fails to surprise me! Just when you think you've heard everything on the Parable of Luke 15 he pulls the rug out from under you!

Fred Zaspel has always been one of my favorite preachers, and he did not let us down. It is no wonder that his ministry has blossomed over the years like it has. He presents a fine balance of scholarship and passionate preaching.

The preaching and teaching at this Conference, like all of the others I have attended for over 10 years, was a great mix of careful exegesis, stimulating insights from the Word, solid doctrine, warm and hearty preaching, probing application, and soul stirring devotion.

<< Did anyone overspend their book budget? >>

Well...you know...I couldn't help it...there were so many, and they were so good, and...There was a Carson work I did not have that was highly recommended, and Barry Horner had some new stuff out, and there was a Dabney work I was not aware of that some young preacher boys I know could use, and my grandchildren would profit from some things I saw on the table, and my wife wanted this and that, and....I am sure Dean was pleased by the turnover!

<< Enquiring minds want to know. >>

That can be a good thing!

Soli Deo Gloria,

John T. "Jack" Jeffery
