Take all the time you need Jack. I fully understand.
BTW, I know Moe had some personal fun with you regarding my comment about
not using scripture, but I want you to know it was not my intent to deride
you. I only made the comment because I tended to lean more in your
direction but the discussion sans scriptural content caused me to go look
for it myself, which opened my eyes a bit to a general theme in the
scripture of baptizing based on a) inquiry about salvation and b) expression
of belief, rather than lengthy testing.
I'm anxious to see your arguments put together from the scriptures to see
what I've overlooked.
Blessings and prayers for your family brother,
Steve

Subject: [soundofgrace] RE: Baptism - Jack to Steve
Steve: I must apologize for the delay in my response to on the subject
above. Things have been just a little crazy around here lately.
One of my sons just moved back home from California, and intensive marital
counseling is ongoing. This has been a heavy burden for my family.
My wife has had two stays in the hospital during the last two weeks (4 days
each time) due to fainting (2 episodes), and a dizzy spell which is being
called a "mini-stroke" or TIA (transient ischemic attack). The first is
suspected to be related to high blood pressure and/or a need to modify her
blood pressure medication. There is no apparent lingering effects from the
TIA after the first 24 hours when her left side was affected. She is on a
lot more medication now than she was before.
For those on the list who would add these concerns to your prayer list my
son's name is Jonathan, his wife is Christina, and my wife's name is Billie.
Please be patient. I have done some work towards a response, and will do
more as time allows. This is a subject which has both interested and
affected me for almost 20 years.
Soli Deo Gloria,
John T. "Jack" Jeffery
