I think this is where the "logic", not to mention the exegesis of the word 
"death" falls apart.  If disobedience can interrupt "life", it cannot be a 
"continued life" by its very nature.  "Continuing" is totally dependent on 
whether Adam obeys or not.  That's not "continued life".  You can't have 
both.
