Jack - and all who prayed for me - THANKS! Doc says surgery went
"perfectly", and the eye looks good. I only wear a shield over it when sleeping, and
he says 'limited time on email' is ok for now. It was done on Wednesday, this
is Friday and the first time I have checked the computer. The eye is a bit
scratchy - he put 2 stitches in, and that's common with cataract removal. I
still have a number of "floaters", but they're supposed to go away in time.
Anyhow, I do appreciate the prayer. I know this surgery is pretty common
these days - and much improved over the last few years, but this is MY eye!
smile - I did tell Doc that the reason I could go in laughing was that I knew he
& I are both in God's hands, so all would be well. He paused, grinned and
said Thank you.

The church is in God's hands, and we all know that. We just need prayer
that we will recognize the direction He is leading and follow. The real
problems have been ongoing for a couple of years now. People have stood firm and
now we are at a crossroads crisis. Pastor is almost 80, in a nursing home
after a stroke....unable to BE pastor, but refuses to 'pass the torch'.
Grandson has been carrying on admirably for over a year, but cannot officially be
named Pastor - Grandpa "called" him to duty..... Steve is New
Covenant.....not quite "5-pointer", but open. The church, founded by Grandpa, is
Pentecostal Church of God - Steve is 3rd generation in that denomination, so there are
some major struggles with change. His father, also Steve, is Home Missions
Director for the Denomination....young Steve cannot honestly sign the
application for license with the church because of his differences. He resigned all
leadership 2 weeks ago.....we were on vacation. He did call me to let us
know his decision. Leon - my husband - is one of the Trustees and I am church
secretary.... We both hate to see him step aside because we all love him,
but appreciate his integrity and candor. Just leaves the church without
effective leadership for a time. We are waiting for God to raise up the right
person - hopefully someone within the body will be able, but if not, God will
bring in a new person who will be recognized.

Blessings
Charlene
