Greetings Mike,
Being a resident of the US you should know Theological Discussion, Devotions, Church, mid-week Church, Wives and Children, etc., are of less importance than the following:
- a family night out at the movies
- our sweet mothers and home made pie
- local sports including the sandlot variety
- professional or college level sports
- professional sport playoffs
- hurricans, tornadoes, flooding, extreme heat and humidity, a drop of a rain or a single snowflake
- the church across town is hosting a cartoon on the 2nd coming according to Hal or Tim
- a tupperware party
- a single sneeze or a slight headache
There was a time when I wouldn't offer a simple sympathy to those who felt the sting of those darts but how times have changed. Here in my New England we have the Patriots and the Red Sox doing extremely well so it's awfully difficult for the local folks to say no to the next scheduled game if it conflicts with a meeting of the saints. Sad.
I'm not saying the brethren on our list have fallen victim to any of the above or anything else for that matter. I'm just pointing out that there's a struggle for the hearts of God's people and like ice cream it comes in many different flavors.
Blessings,
Moe
