Neil, I have read Israel's Law and the Church's faith and agree that it was excellent. Especially the second half. The first half is largely devoted to critiques of liberal scholars with various levels of interest to me. The critique of Sanders I found more interesting and that of Schweitzer and others less interesting. Westerholm clearly distinguishes between Paul's various uses of nomos concluding that he is usually referring to the commands of Moses which are expected to be done. Westerholm also holds a strong discontinuity in reference to law and the Christian life, and cites Luther as an influence. Is the other book his latest title? I did not realize that it was out if it is. Enjoy the reading, Mike PA On Sat, 27 Nov 2004 11:38:25 -0000 "Neil Whitcombe" <Neil.Whitcombe@...> writes: > > > Sounders > > I have just got hold of Stephen Westerholme's two books: > Israel's Law & the Church's Faith and Perspectives Old & New on > Paul. > > They are on my must read list as I have come across quotes from > Westerholm > whilst reading other NCT books.
