I think what MacArthur is arguing is that the sin nature is present - but NOT the sin action. Sin nature does not condemn but only sinful actions - therefore since a unborn child has not acted upon or has not acted consistent with, his sin nature they are not condemned and thus enter heaven. I was quite surprised when I heard him make the claim, as if anyone who did not see it as crystal clear as he appprarently did - was so incredibly blind to the testimony of scripture that they hardly deserved to be in the ministry. Clearly - it's not so clear! This is not an academic issue for us at our church right now - as just last Lord's Day a 3 week premature child died of complications from a disease he was born with. I'd ask you folks to keep the family of little Simeon in pray along with the parents Scott and Jenn. I am praying with the assurance of him in the Lord's presence right now - confident although wide open to this conversation. _______________________________ Peter Charlebois Pastor; First Baptist Church 308 Red River Road Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada P7B 1B1 (807) 345 8536 (Office) - (807) 344 0961 (Fax) "Only one life, T'will soon be past only what's done for Christ will last" (C.T. The "age of accountability" ended in the Garden for all men, included babies.
