Dear Brethren and Joe, Amen, amen, amen and amen! Grace reigns, through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. This infuriates the pride of man which everywhere seeks to exert itself. Grace so perfectly places man in his helpless and sinful position, and perfectly magnifies the One from which it proceeds. Grace glorifies God and humbles the sinner. It also glorifies God and humbles the saint. It is not our years of service or of sinning that are the issue in grace, it is the One upon whom are salvation rests from start to finish. Grace reigns because God is sovereign. Grace reigns because God wanted us to be saved and willed that it should happen. Grace reigns because God alone is worthy to be glorified and exalted in His Person and works. Grace reigns because God wanted to bring us into the joy and liberty of the sons of God. Grace reigns so that we may turn our attention away from ourselves to the Source of goodness, power, life, grace and all other blessings- to the One who alone is worthy to be praised. Grace brings us (from our perspective) to the end of the finite and to the beginning of the infinite. The infinitely good, the infinitely wise, the infinitely beautiful, the infinitely worthy. How wonderful to have our hope not in ourselves, but in the infinite power and ability and person of God. "To Him be the glory in the church". Grace teaches us to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts. Titus 2. "By grace ye have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works lest anyone should boast." Eph. 2. Grace to you and peace from God our Father, Mike, Pa
