Hi Charlene,
Thank you very much for the kind words.
Regarding women speaking in church the passage in 1 Cor is often coupled with Paul's writing to Timothy (1Tim 2:11) so might that broaden the scope of the instruction to more churches than just the church in Corinth?
I agree that we are servants and therefore ministers.

Bro Harry - I have learned by reading your posts to have much respect for
your study, so am sure that you already know the Scriptures I would turn to,
however, I will "find" them and post some to you if you like.
My real response is about Paul telling women to "sit down and be quiet, and
ask their husbands at home".......I have been taught that that was addressing
a specific problem in Corinth, but yet applies to us in some areas. Women
should not cause a disturbance in church (or anywhere else!)....worship
services should not be disrupted by people loudly asking questions, which is what I
have been told was happening.
Women definitely are to be ministers - and I do not mean preachers. The
older women are to teach the younger how to be good wives and mothers. That
is a ministry. Personally, I teach small children in Sunday School, as well
as volunteer as Church Secretary, both of which I consider part of my
ministry. Hopefully, I minister to my husband in many ways....taking care of the
home and now the grandchildren, trying to meet his needs. My home is my 1st
ministry, then my neighborhood.....my family, and when I had a job, my office
was a place of ministry.
Maybe that will give some help - minister comes from the same root as
servant (as I understand it), so, in that sense, we all are ministers.
Blessings
Charlene
