Hello All you Seasiders on this list,

Methinks that John and Moe know not what they conive.  They are are correct.  I do work at a Conference Center and they are looking for weekday retreats.

Methinks that John and Moe do not know how disorganized I can be.  However, Lakeside Christian Camp and Conference Center has a very organized young woman as Guest Services Director.  Christie will crack the whip over me to keep me straight.

 TOPICS/SPEAKERS
If we have at least 20 individuals, than we could have a conference at Lakeside.
We could have a speaker committee from among our list members or previous attenders of the Seaside conference to choose topics and speakers.  (Hey, John, Moe any suggestions?)

I suggest a few general Biblical topics, a book study, and of course a New Covenant Theology topic or two, at least one youth related toplc, if we desire variety. Plenty of time for discussion.

WHEN: 2005 0r 2006?

If the same time frame is desired, an early Sept. date 2005 or 2006 (second or third week) might be doable.Or May 2006 date.  (Snow is an issue if we go later than sept.or earlier than May and JUNE- AUGUST are dedicated to their camp program.

Camp Facilities/Activities

 16 motel style rooms - sleep 4-6, private bathroom, bedding can be provided;
 25 Cabin rooms [rather rustic but well heated wood frame divided into two sides, one bath and shower per side) sleep 4-8 people and must bring own bedding

 There are a few motels within miles of the camp for those who prefer to travel and desire moptel/hotel sleeping quarters if the 16 camp motel rooms are full.

  Two Recreation rooms with board games, carpetball,ping pong, 
      fooseball, air hockey
  high and low ropes course, boulder climbing room
  Snack bar
  other outdoor game area
  Swimming in Richmond Pond
  Motor Boating, water tubing, fishing
  canoeing, paddleboatiing, and also sailboating for the experienced
  archery, ball fiends, basketball court (outside), volleyball, soocer field 
  frog pond for the little people to wade in 
  hiking trails

  NEARBY ATTRACTIONS

  Hancock Shaker Village - just down the road
  Stockbridge ( novelty shops , Norman Rockwell Muiseum, etc.)  1/2 hour away
  Mount Greylock (hiking and/or overlook ) highest point in Massachusetts  55 minutes
  1/2 hour from Albany NY,  2 1/2 hours from Boston
  1 1/2 hrs. from Sturbridge village (near Gary George and his fellow believers)
  golf courses, go-carts, mini-golf  
  a mall and all kinds of shops
  Catskill game farm 1 1/2 hrs away

  to just name a few things

  plenty of space just to hang out and think and fellowship together
  
A rainy week might pose a problem to a degree, but the three big inside rooms should sufice for those who remain at camp during the day. 
  COST:??

    Higher than Seaside - we'd be looking at the $178 and $140 range (dependiing on your housing choice) for adults and lower for teens and lower yet for younger folks.  This is for a Sunday supper through Thursday breakfast.   (Perhaps when the camp realized you are all my friends they will charge double??)
Really, I might be able to work out a special deal if we have a specific number of attenders promised.

If we all proceed with this, I am sure we will all have a great time.
I, of course, encourage it.  :)
