Hi Terry,
Good point. Were women offered the same level of protection
under Roman law as were men?
Still the contrast remains. The Law brings condemnation/death.
The departure from the law was in the offering of forgiveness.

So it's questionable whether Jesus was seriously calling their
bluff, or just making a point about their hearts in this
transition time between the Old and New Covenants.
