There was a letter to the editor claiming that Katrina was the judgmnet of God becuase the United Nations and theUnited States had forced Israel to withdraw from the Gaza strip. What did the peopleof New Orleans jave to do with the actions of the United Nations? JGR It is amazing how God can serve our purposes and prejudices. I do not obviously believe the above note to be objective. I can say the Lord provided a much needed gentle soaking of rain here in Cincinnati as a result of Katrina, for which I am thankful. The purpose of God in this will be multifold, the blessings wonderful, the heartaches as God sends good and evil as He sees fit. Men, like the the one above hae a pidgeon hole God, a very small and self centered god. In this I rejoice that God is Sovereign, even as I ache when I see the devestation, there is opportunity to minister and see a God who does care about the Gaza strip withdrawl. If the above man really cares for Gaza, I know a Reformed Baptist Missionary that could help him go and assist that Palastinians, Arabs and other indigenous groups in that region. He can also assist in helping the Jews in their return to other portions of Israel. The need is great there as elsewhere. He will be very helpful since He can pin point God's intentions so accurately.
