Did anyone else see last night's episode of "Law & Order"? I was absolutely disgusted, not to mention furious. The overtly liberal, pro-death, anti-Christian media stooped to a new low with last night's program. "Law & Order", which is actually one of my favorite television programs, typically takes real current event issues for their story plots, changes the actual details of these events to a large degree and offers a disclaimer that the characters and events depicted are fictional. Last night's episode was *clearly* intended to be a left-wing, pro-death fantasy based on the recent Terri Schiavo case (the severely brain-damaged woman whose husband finally won a court order to remove a feeding tube that had been sustaining her life for many years, much to the dismay of her horrified parents and family who were pleading with the courts and in the media for Terri's life).
In "Law & Order's" nauseating, pro-death fantasy version, the program opens with the brain-damaged woman's husband standing by her bedside in the hospital, in tears, telling her he will finally be able to keep the promise she allegedly asked him to make earlier to remove her feeding tube. The brain-damaged woman (ironically in this fantasy version) has enough mental capabilities to understand what her husband said, and mouthed her eager approval to him (which in reality actually undermines the case Terri's husband and the pro-death liberals were attempting to make in the true story of Terri Schiavo regarding her mental state).
The husband then exits the hospital, which is surrounded by Pro-Life activists protesting the removal of the feeding tube. He gets in his car, starts the engine, and the car explodes, killing the husband.
The writers of this slanderous fantasy (which was littered with insulting remarks made by police officers involved in the case against Pro-Life activists) later reveal that the parents and the brother of the brain-damaged woman were all in on the plot to assassinate the husband... a plot that was masterminded by--guess who--an Evangelical Christian minister who was prominent in the media standing on the side of the woman's family in protesting the husband's desire to murder his brain-damaged wife by removing her feeding tube (the husband, just as in the real story of Terri Schiavo, was depicted as having a common-law wife and children with whom he was living).
Imagine the deafening uproar from liberals if the writers of this episode chose to create a plot in which it was revealed that the husband of the brain-damaged woman was actually guilty of originally causing his wife's brain damage by choking her after an argument, then later wanted to disconnect the feeding tube due to fear that his wife would otherwise eventually recover enough to expose him for the physical assault causing her brain damage, and also in order to subsequently collect on a life insurance policy, marry his common-law wife and merrily go on with his life with his new family.
I know this kind of media attack on the Pro-Life Movement, and upon Christians in general, is nothing new and won't go away any time soon, but this example of Leftist, pro-death propaganda particularly infuriated me due to its obvious slander of the character of Terri Schiavo's family--real individuals--not long after her government assisted murder.
