Shame on those who degrade women for the sake of protecting their "assumed" authority whether it be in the church or at home.  If God does not want women in leadership positions, why does he consistently give them the gifts necessary to fit them for such positions?  or  Why are male leaders without any obvious gift of leadership or teaching ability allowed to function but as a Yes-man to a strong pastorate?  What a sad day it is when our reference point in Christ becomes gender-based.  Again, is prophesying not leading? (Acts 21:9)  Galatians 3:28 (There is neither male nor female in the redemptive community of Christ.)  I would like to hear from some of the ladies on the list if there are any who are willing or not afraid of what their 'equals' might say or do.
