What New Covenant Scripture are you basing your opinion on? I do find in the OC that the priest read the Scriptures to the people and then I read in the NC regarding the priesthood of all believers. "But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light." So if anything that would prove using Scripture that women are welcomed in the assembly to read to all from the Word of God. "For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, for it is made holy by the word of God and prayer." There's no difference in "substance" when it comes to how the scriptures treat reading and preaching.
