Doug, I'm not sure who this post addressing and to what you are addressing it to. I'm assuming you mean women teaching in the church. The Bible clearly forbids women from teaching men in the gathered assembly of the church. (1 Cor14:34-37; 1 Tim 11:15). There is no degrading going on here. This prohibition is not an absolute forbidding of women teaching in every situation. The Bible no where teaches that women are not smart enough to teach, or that somehow, they are more suspectible to error (as is sometimes reasoned from 1Tim2:14). There are many situations where it is appropriate for women who are good teachers and should be teachers. Such as in universities or other non gathered assembly type situations. Women who actually have the spiritual gift of teaching should use their gift in the church in areas such as children ministries or teaching ministries to other women. Carlo
