Harry: I wrote: "I am at a loss as I try to understand why you are bringing these views forward" You responded: "For the edification of the saints in the arena of a friendly discussion. I have come across many who hold to these views and other views which I have yet to present. I am sorry if they have caused you "a loss" and if I have stumble in my attempt to present them in a credible manner worthy of discussion." My response: Are you prepared to defend these views as credible offerings for the identification of "the first resurrection" mentioned in Rev. 20? That is what we were discussing. Unless we must address any and all views that have ever been offered, regardless of how unsuitable they might be for the context of Rev. 20, which I am unable and unwilling at this point to do, I fail to see the profit in them. If you see some credit to these views, then perhaps you need to defend them. Otherwise I must suggest that your offering of them comes across as a smokescreen. You wrote: "Are you familiar with Lee Strobel's book A Case For Christ where Dr. Habermas from Liberty states that his wife has been resurrected?" My response: No I am not. Does this appear to you to be something that is worthy of our time and consideration in our discussion of Rev. 20? You wrote: "And please forgive me if you had answered my questions I posed to you regarding the postponement doctrine of the kingdom and I missed your answers. Do you hold to the view that the offer of the kingdom was postponed?" My response: I don't remember reading that. Forgive me for not responding prior to this. I think that the postponement view is often misunderstood, but nevertheless I do not subscribe to it. Those who have dialoged with me at the Bunyan Conference and on this list for several years know me better than that. The folks who teach the "postponement doctrine" are locked into a single aspect of the kingdom that fails to reckon with Scriptural teaching concerning other aspects or phases. They are especially uncomfortable with the fact that Christ is presently enthroned, and that we have been translated into His kingdom. I am especially uncomfortable with any notion that God has postponed anything except the judgment of the reprobates due to His longsuffering. I trust you are not suggesting that all premillennialists must be stuffed into the classical dispensational "box"? I can assure you, I will not fit, and so it may not be that simple for you to deal with where I am coming from. Soli Deo Gloria, John T.
