Harry: << Hopefully this means that you aren't one of the many dispensationalist who hold to a dual covenant position! Dual covenant basically meaning that one did not have to believe in Christ as long as they were faithful to the Old Covenant and that the temple observances will hold salvific power once again. (Now that smells like smoke!) >> I really do not know anyone who holds such a view. I know there were those who did, but that error has gotten so much "bad press" that Bible students today should know better. Perhaps there are a few such extremists around, but they seem to be keeping a low profile. I believe, and I can document it, that Lewis Sperry Chafer taught something very much like this, despite the denials of his defenders. And, understand, they do not defend him by defending this teaching, but by denying both the teaching and the fact that he taught it. I wish you and many others would do those of us who are dispensational a favor or two: 1. Stop dredging up the extreme errors of dispensationalists in the past, and painting us all with that brush, and 2. Stop trying to press all dispensationalists into the same box. Do not assume that we are all agreed on the things that you are fond of criticizing about them. John T.
