It works best at a monitor depth of thousands of colors or more. The sides and bottoms of the windows, utility windows, dialogues and alerts are a little fatter than standard ones, making them appear more rounded. Cut/Offs uses custom colors, shading (integrated into the bottom and right sides keeping them the same width as the left) and textured patterns for a unique appearance. This version features several minor improvements. Freeware.

Fetch-O-Matic allows web authors to freely create and update files locally without needing to keep track of their work, and then automatically catalog the alterations and update the website. Fetch-O-Matic differs from other available synchronization and maintenance schemes in that it does not require any local machine to have a complete site copy. For example, one might decide to grab a few pages and change them (and/or add some new files) from a Powerbook. Later, the site copy on the primary machine can be quickly brought up-to-date with just two clicks - without having to remember what was changed or consult the Powerbook. Fetch-O-Matic is easy to use. Novice web authors in search of a simple way to update a personal web page need not be intimidated by its power. Experienced hands will find that previously dreaded operations such as multi-file search and replace, with the subsequent headache of tracking down and uploading scattered altered files, are rendered painless. Transfer errors such as uploading/downloading to the wrong directory are a thing of the past. If several people are maintaining a site they are protected from treading on each other's updates. Fetch-O-Matic was conceived and developed to fill a need in servicing a large site (http://www.filmscouts.com). Uploads and downloads of thousands of files at once have been performed with ease. But even on a site with just a few pages, Fetch-O-Matic will ease the updating chores. Fetch-O-Matic requires Dartmouth's FTP client "Fetch", AppleScript, the scripting addition Jon's Commands, and, optionally, Alessandro Levi Montalcini's "List Files" (providing a significant speed improvement for large sites), all of which are readily available online. Fetch-O-Matic runs on any Mac OS machine with reasonable (8mb+) RAM running System 7 or 8. It runs in the background. It is shareware with a single-user license fee of $20. Greg's Browser was originally based on the NeXT OS directory browser, and Apple's latest demos show that the Mac OS X Finder will include a multiple folder view similar to the Browser. Version 2.6.1 is a maintenance release, with over a dozen minor improvements and bug fixes. In particular, it fixes an erroneous alert that appears when moving files to the trash and a beep when emptying the trash. It also fixes a crash when launching the browser if StuffIt SpaceSaver is running. On the improvement side, the text anti-aliasing code is completely rewritten, borrowing heavily from SmoothType. Anti-aliased text now looks better, draws faster, and requires less memory. You can also set the font size to anything from 9 to 16 point, since anti-aliased text often looks best at odd font sizes. Finally, when browsing URL clippings, the Browser now displays the URL at the bottom of the window.

Reanimator is a utility for automatically restarting all applications and background-only processes killed by another process. It can also be used to quit all running processes and restart them later. System requirements 68020/030/040 or PowerPC; 64 KBytes free memory for the extension; Mac OS 7.1 or later. This is similar to the font smoothing in Mac OS 8.5 and later, but SmoothType offers more flexibity and uses a more aggressive anti-aliasing algorithm that many people think gives better results. I suggest you try both to see which you prefer. For best results with SmoothType, set your monitor resolution as high as it will go, but then increase the font sizes (or magnification) you use so that text on your screen is the same physical size as before. SmoothType is compatible with all system versions from System 7 to Mac OS 9. With 8.5 or later, it overrides the built-in font smoothing. Version 2.1.1 fixes problems with blank windows in FWB Hard Disk Toolkit and with smoothing the system font when using Kaleidoscope. A custom Extensions Strip theme is included as well. This version changes the scheme icon, the bevel buttons and the "About Box" in the K2 control panel. Freeware.
