Recipe: No-Fail Chocolate Chippers

2 c Old-fashioned rolled oats
1 3/4 c All purpose flour

1 ts Baking soda
1/2 ts Salt
1/2 c Butter; room temperature (1

           -- stick)
      1 c  Golden brown sugar; (packed)
    1/2 c  Sugar
      2 lg Eggs
      1 ts Vanilla extract
      1 c  Chopped walnuts
      1 pk Milk chocolate chips;
           -- (11.5-ounce) (about
           -- 2 cups)

Preheat oven to 375F. Finely grind oats in processor. Add flour, baking soda and salt and blend 5 seconds.

Beat butter and both sugars in large bowl until well blended. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Mix in dry ingredients. Mix in walnuts and chocolate chips.

For each cookie, form 2 rounded tablespoons dough into ball and place on ungreased baking sheets; flatten slightly. Bake until edges are golden brown, about 12 minutes. Cool on sheets 5 minutes. Transfer to racks; cool completely.

Makes about 2 dozen.
