Ingredients:
1 Cup(s) All purpose flour
3/4 Cup(s) White sugar
1/2 Teaspoon(s) Baking Powder
1/2 Teaspoon(s) Baking soda
1/4 Teaspoon(s) Salt
1 Egg
1/2 Cup(s) Buttermilk or plain milk
with 1/2 tsp vinegar
1/2 Teaspoon(s) Vanilla
1/3 Cup(s) Melted butter
3/4 Cup(s) Sliced almonds, reserve
1/3 Cup(s) Water
2 Tablespoon(s) Amaretto or, 1/2 tsp
EXTRACT
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda,
salt, egg, milk, vanilla and butter. Spread in greased 9" spring form
pan. Bake 35 mm. until lightly browned. Prick top of cake with fork.
Top with almonds. Combine sugar, water and Amaretto in saucepan. Boil
one minute. Pour over cake. Place 6" under broiler until almonds are
browned. Be Careful!! Will brown quickly. Posted to recipelu-digest
