Ingredients:
2 3/4 Cup(s) Flour, sifted all-purpose
2 Teaspoon(s) Baking Powder
1/4 Teaspoon(s) SODA
1/2 Teaspoon(s) Salt
1/4 Cup(s) Sugar
1/2 Cup(s) Nut meats, chopped
1/2 Cup(s) Seedless raisins
3/4 Cup(s) MOLASSES
1 Egg, beaten
1/4 Cup(s) Shortening, melted or oil
2 Teaspoon(s) Grated orange rind

Directions:
Mix together and sift flour, baking powder, soda, salt and sugar into
a mixing bowl; add nut meats and raisins and mix together. Combine the
milk, molasses, egg, shortening and orange rind; add to dry mixture
and stir only enough to dampen flour. Bake in a greased bread pan,
10x5x3 inch, in a moderate oven, 350 degrees F., for 1 1/4 hours.
This recipe makes a large loaf of fruit bread. From THE FLAVOR OF
