Have you ever noticed how often the Holy Spirit tells us today
is the time to do something for God? When God speaks, He speaks
for today and not tomorrow or yesterday. What kinds of things are to
be done today? Following is a listing of just some of the things the word
of God tells us to do today:

1) _Exhort one another_ – “But exhort one another daily, while it is called
To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin” 
(Hebrews 3:13).

2) _Give thought only for the things of today_ – “Take therefore no
thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things 
of itself.
Sufficient unto the day /is/ the evil thereof” (Mat 6:34).

3) _Renewal of our spirit_ – “For which cause we faint not; but though
our outward man perish, yet the inward /man/ is renewed day by day” (2Co 

4) _Obedience to the gospel_ – “For he saith, I have heard thee in a time
accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now
/is/ the accepted time; behold, now /is/ the day of salvation” (2 Cor. 6:2).

5) _Provide for the physical needs of the brethren_ – “If a brother or 
sister be naked,
and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in 
peace, be
ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things 
which are
needful to the body; what doth it profit? Even so faith, if it hath not 
works, is
dead, being alone” (James 2:15-17).

Remember that tomorrow may never come. Today is the time to do the
will of God and fulfill your duty to the brethren. Procrastination is not a
quality that God looks for in His children. Today is the only day that
