Ken,

If you don't need Fort Knox-level encryption you might consider a 2 stage
approach of coding the data yourself using your own method. Also create a
"key" file (for encrypting and decrypting) in the Mac system folder (maybe
preferences). The data would be useless without the key and the coding
algorithim. So, if the data is moved to another Mac it will fail. If a user
finds the "key" file (you could set the Invisible and locked finder
attributes) they still have to know what to do with it.  This is simplistic
but might be enough depending on your needs.
