Hi all,

If I can come up with a solution to a problem that we are having at
work, my boss says that he will buy FB^3. :)

We're having trouble with an installation application for
MacAdministrator (by Hi-Resolution; not in FB). I figured out what
the install app is doing and can do most of it myself. However, one
thing that it does is ask for a machine name and writes the text to a
STR resource in an extension that it installs. I've read the
Resources chapter in the Handbook and also Turovich's chapter on the
Resource Manager, but am not sure how complicated this really should
be. I know what the extension file is, where it is, the resource ID,
and I'll get the machine name from user input. Oh yeah, I would be
writing to the extension file resource while booted from a CD, which
*should* make things easier, I would think.

One coworker tells me that I can do this without too much difficulty
using an AppleTalk OSAX, but I'd much rather come up with a FB
solution.

Thanks in advance for any help!
