Have you looked at/considered FB's INDEX$ (dynamic string arrays)? They are great.
A little bit to learn in using them, but really outstanding. I just got my FB^3 CD
a few minutes ago, so I don't know if they are still there, but I can't imagine
them not being included. I learned to use them before I understood Records and
ordinary multi-dimensional arrays.
