If you used a VAX system through telnet, you were most likely using a 
"standard" keyboard. I believe there are keyboards designed specifically 
for the VAX. The machine itself (in some dark closet with a 10base-T 
link) probably has a special keyboard. I haven't worked with them too 
much, but I started programming with software written for VMS (Virtual 
Management System, I beleive) on an Alpha server.
