It appears that SPC(16) would be used with

PRINT SPC(16) to output 16 spaces while printing

whereas SPACE$(16) creates a VAR of 16 spaces, so you probably could do:

spaces$ = SPACE$(16)
PRINT "Hello"+spaces$+"World"

and it would be the same as:

PRINT "Hello" SPC(16) "World"

Now that is what I would gather from the FB^3 eDoc Reference Manuel. If that
is what you've done and it doesn't work, could it be ? that it should be:

PRINT "Hello" + SPC(16) + "World" ???? Probably not!
