Hi Chris,

Here is what the FBtoC team is doing:

1) The FB editor is being upgraded and should be converted to a
universal in the near future.

2) FBtoC will be integrated (we have it working in a test mode) with
the FB Editor so there isn't a separate step like there is today.

See my final note at the bottom regarding what Staz Software is doing.

The FB compiler as we know it will continue to exist in its current
capacity. There are technical limitations to its future. Small
"updates" are possible, but anything major would essentially be a
rewrite, which is why we wrote......

FBtoC (in spite of its name) is MORE than a converter. It has always
wrapped conversion and compilation (with gcc) together to make it
seamless for the user. This is where the effort is and will be from
the FBtoC team (and has been for the last 19 months of development).
Essentially, FBtoC will be one of the compilers available to use
within the FB IDE.

Depends what you mean by "support". All of the FBtoC team are
volunteers and all resources are donated (i.e. web space etc.) . We
don't have a formal method to either accept or disburse monies
donated and I don't think we have considered that option. The FB
community is the list members (both this list and the beta list) and
their contributions to help other FB programmers are a great help. If
you have some specific kind of support in mind (i.e. writing code ----
how is your C and FB? , other development activities and
administration), please let us know and we'll see how it fits.

One other thing: to find out what plans Staz Software has, please
contact Staz directly at staz@... because he doesn't
monitor this list. Even though we work closely with Staz, the FBtoC
team cannot speak for Staz's future plans
