I just downloaded the same full package to my desktop (to avoid
confusion with other installs) and it runs fine here in 10.4.11. I
ran a small demo. From your description it sounds like the editor
launches but only when you try to compile does it fail. BTW: many
other FBers are running this non-universal in Leopard.

Please try the following:

1) Launch the FB editor (the one labeled 'FutureBASIC')
2) From the FILE menu select NEW - this should result in an empty
document window
3) In the empty document window type the following code:
'------------
dim as long x

x = 25

print x

do
handleevents
until gFBquit
'-----------

4) From the COMMAND menu select the CHECK option. Save the file when
prompted (anywhere you like)

Please report back which of these steps fail.
