Okay, the API is documented at:

What I learned about the query: "the callback is an array of pointers
to strings holding the values for each column as extracted"

So, we are dealing with pointers to strings. All SQLite data are
strings -- it is not a strongly typed binary database format. The
strings are extracted using the pointers.

Anyway, that's the first thing I needed to know.

Off to the second issue:

Option 1: create every function, with precisely the same name...

Option 2: match most functions, but merge some sets into single
functions in FB.

For example, why not just _finalize() and _close() instead of having
the FB coder do both? A single FB routine named _closenow() or
something similar would actually be calling both sqlite3 functions --
without using a function name that's already defined in the SQLite

Either way, we'd have to start with the most-used functionality and
then expand features over time.

I'd suggest starting an open source area somewhere for FB, which we
could then use for this project.
